ISO Certification For Manufacturing

Operating a successful manufacturing business requires you to get certifications for the products you sell and have proof of their quality and high standard. ISO certifications granted by authorized registration bodies are the most widely recognized standards for multiple industries, globally recognized and applicable anywhere in the world.

In manufacturing, there are several sets of ISO standards that will help your business gain more authority in its niche, but also improve its processes and final product. Best Practice is a JAS- ANZ accredited Certification Body that can guide you through the process and perform the audits for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and ISO 45001.

The 3 Steps to Getting Your ISO Certification

Best Practice Certification is here to support you in getting your ISO Certificate for your manufacturing company in 3 simple steps:

BONUS STEP
Optional Gap Analysis

This is an optional step offered by Best Practice to evaluate your existing systems and identify any faults that you need to correct.

We perform this analysis before beginning the 3-stage certification process, to allow you time to prepare and correct any issues that could prevent you from getting certified.

STEP 1
Stage 1 Assessment

Evaluating your management system documentation, from the policies to the processes, review records, scope and context, and system implementation.

STEP 2
Stage 2 Assessment

Then, we will verify that all the documented requirements are properly implemented across the entire business through an E-Audit. One of our assessors will participate in discussions with key players from your company remotely to establish if the requirements have been properly implemented.

STEP 3
Certification

When the stage 2 assessment is complete, we will issue you a ‘Statement of Certification’ that confirms your manufacturing company is compliant with the international ISO standard.

The certification is valid for three years, starting from the date of issue., but you will need to go through surveillance assessments at least once every 12 months to maintain it.

ISO Standards For manufacturing

While there are several ISO standards, manufacturing companies are encouraged to get certified to the following:

ISO 9001 (Quality)

One of the best-known sets of ISO standards, the ISO 9001 family applies to any industry and sector of activity and refers to the quality assurance system standards. It ensures that your processes are efficient and perfectly calibrated to deliver constant, reliable quality.

Once you are ISO 9001 2015 certified, your customers and peers are able to recognize your compliance with international requirements. Organizations who are able to assure the quality of their product have a higher chance of being favored by the customers and bond easier within the industry, forming stronger business partnerships.

ISO 14001 (Environment)

The ISO 14001 standard aims to achieve responsible manufacturing, with sensitivity to the impact you have on the environment. Through this certification, your business becomes more socially responsible and able to achieve its goals while leading in terms of sustainability, eco-
friendliness, and positive impact on the environment.

Today’s customers and business partners want to see innovation and responsibility when it comes to how our industries impact the world we live in. Complying to the latest global standards will not only contribute to a stronger organizational culture, but it improves resource management overall.

ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety)

Your employees are your most important asset, and prioritizing their safety and well-being is going to benefit your company as a whole, and keep motivation and performance high. This set of international standards of occupational health and safety reduces the risk of injuries and conditions in your facility. This directly impacts the turnover rate (minimizing it) and the performance of your employees.

Fewer incidents in your manufacturing company mean lower insurance premiums, lower costs overall, and better-performing teams.

ISO 27001 (Information Security)

Your manufacturing company is certainly backed by an informational system, whether it’s a way for you to connect with your customer online, or an intranet network you are using for your employees. The ISO 27001 international standard addresses your informational security and processes through which you protect virtual data within your company.

ISO 27001 protects your virtual assets, sensitive information, and personal data that you may store in the process. This set of standards is addressed to any type of business with a virtual system in place, from small and medium businesses to industry giants.
